Flexible Service System (FSS) for Maintenance:
Mercedes-Benz vehicles from 1998 onwards utilize a Flexible Service System (FSS) for maintenance, which offers a flexible schedule based on driving habits. The service due is displayed in the instrument cluster, indicating the days or distances remaining until the next suggested factory maintenance. Ken Caryl Imports provides detailed maintenance services according to the manufacturer’s guidelines, ensuring your Mercedes remains in optimal condition.
Service A and B:
When prompted by indicators on your vehicle’s control panel, a “single wrench” symbol indicates it is time for an A-Service, which includes a synthetic oil and filter change, lubrication of hinges and linkages, tire rotation, brake inspection, and various other checks and inspections. After the A-Service, we recommend a B-Service when you have driven an additional 6,000 to 10,000 miles, creating an alternating repeat maintenance cycle.
Additional Recommended Services:
In addition to the regular A and B services, we recommend various other maintenance tasks based on time and distance intervals, including brake fluid replacement every 2 years, coolant checks and replacement every 3 years, replacement of dust filters and activated charcoal filters, fuel filter replacement, and spark plug intervals based on engine type.
